Art by Gabrielle Rose. I live in Oakland, CA. Watercolor and ink are my favorite media. Get in touch at hello@drawgabbydraw.com.

This month draw Gabby draw! turned 5 years old! Here is one of the first drawings I posted, back in February 2009. Five years in internet time is a long time. I guess my style is the same and different. That’s what one would expect, right?

Just drawing. It’s only like 8:30 and I’m ready for bed. What about you?

Volute.

Liquid watercolor, ink, and gold leaf. (Not real gold. Maybe I should say “metal” leaf.)

(Do you guys know about Aztec speech volutes? To me, they are like the predecessor to comic book speech bubbles.)

Watercolor, white ink, red Micron pen. The Micron doesn’t draw so well on cold-pressed watercolor paper. The paper’s too rough.

I had an urge to draw little lines yesterday and did just that for a couple of hours. I used a Speedball dip pen and Winsor & Newton blue ink.

An inky cap mushroom. When I was little, I’d always find ink cap mushrooms on the side of my friend’s house, and I thought they were really cool, all drippy and gooey.

Watercolor, india ink, gold gel pen. 9x12”.

A Saturday drawing for those of you who are around.
Since I think people will ask, this is made of Dr. Ph. Martin’s liquid watercolor (black, blue), Higgins ink (red), and india ink for the line work on hot pressed watercolor paper.
