Will scan tomorrow, before or after my much needed HAIRCUT.
Last night’s Sketch Tuesday was a blast! I sat for four hours and drew things that people then bought. Making art is usually an extremely solitary endeavor for me (and probably for most artists), so it was weird to have people looking over my shoulder as I painted. But you know how bacon and chocolate together are weird in a good way? That’s how it was. Weird in a good way.
I usually don’t make it into event photos, but above are two pictures from the event. (Clearly I just need to sit still long enough and it will happen.) These were taken by Michael Cuffe (on tumblr), and you can see the whole set on Facebook.
P.S. I have two drawings that didn’t sell. I might post them up here for sale later, so keep an eye out!
Me and my sister, back in the day. Guess which one is me?
(Also, this photo is technically “vintage”, I think, which is dizzying…)
(Also also more art coming soon. I’ve been a busy girl lately!)
(EDIT: I like this picture better.)
My currrrrrly hair.
Oh and also I just bought some hot pressed watercolor paper for the first time ever (it was on sale). It’s so smooth, guys! It’s crazy! We’ll see how it goes.
EDIT: Oh my lands I just started painting on this and it’s super different from the cold pressed stuff I always use! I think we’ll become buds after spending some quality time together.
Just got my lovely book of drawings by Jon Carling called Everything is Vibrating 4. It’s beautiful! He sent lots of extra little goodies, too. Find him on tumblr here.
Around this time of day the light in my room is always… stripey.
It’s true. It’s the second time I’ve done it this year. I think I’ve saved like $100!
GPOYW, plus that little mirror is a pocket mirror with a doodle of mine on the other side! The good lighting for photos is running out for the day, so I might have to take pictures of them tomorrow.
Totally cut my own hair last week. It was kind of a disaster, but my hair is so curly you can’t even tell. So, WIN.
There are oranges everywhere in California. I’m looking outside the window at work and I see an orange tree full of fruit. People rake them up in piles with their leaves and grass clippings, leaving them on the street. Also, they are delicious.
The nice thing about having short hair is that when you take your bike helmet off you don’t get (much) helmet hair. This, at least, is what I tell myself.
Leave me a pic of you, if you’re around.
She always sits on spaces already occupied by something. Like my butt.
