OH GEMMA!

This is what I think when I look at her website!

By Luke Pearson, dA here, and he’s here on tumblr.  Go visit his dA page especially.  There is so much great stuff there.  This just happens to be the most recent.

Meet your new favorite comic, Spera.  According to the comic’s author Josh Tierney,
“… Spera is a collaboration between artists from around the world, illustrated and told in consecutive sections that incorporate character designs by Sarah Ferrick. These sections form a tapestry of artistic styles and storytelling methods, turning the world of Spera into a poetic, surprising and wholly unique realm.”

The website is truly stunning, and of course the art for Part I is gorgeous.  I love seeing all of the different styles come together to present one story.  (I’m helping out with Part II.  I’ll let you know when it’s up!)

Duck in Jail at Madman Funnies.  I visit this site just to watch the gif on the homepage again and again.  It’s goofy.

The second part of the Spera comic is up!  Spera is a beautiful collaboration between Josh Tierney, who wrote the story, and many artists who are illustrating it.  Joel Hentges made the site, which is gorgeous. Here are my contributions.  Click through to visit part 2.  If you haven’t read the first part yet, click here for the beginning.

Coffeeeee.  :3
I owe a lot to Gabrielle Rose (draw gabby draw) for this; I felt I was channeling her style of combining watercolors and fine line work.  If you don’t know who she is then for pete’s sake, click that link!  She is a watercolor wizard and works serious magic with tiny-nibbed pens.  Thanks for the inspiration, Gabby!

You guys! Look at Liz’s awesome coffee comic! I like how even though she was inspired to use the same materials that I use in my work, her own style really shines in this piece. This was such a nice surprise on my dash. Check out her lovely blog here.
