“The Apprentice/L’ Apprenti” by Richard Condie (1991).
Does anyone remember that program on Cartoon Network called “O Canada!”? It aired late at night and featured wonderful Canadian animated shorts. My sisters and I would stay up late to watch it. This short was one of the most unforgettable for me. It’s so weird and quirky, but delightfully so. If you go directly to the YouTube page be sure to check out some of the related shorts. I love, love this stuff.
Short created for the New Zealand Book Council, animated by London based Andersen M Studio. (via It’s Nice That)
There is a lot of cut-up-book art floating around tumblr, but I’ve seen nothing like this. It’s stop motion cut-up books! Elegantly eerie.

my first crush, an animation by julia pott
I posted a picture by Julia Pott back in November, so how tickled was I to find that she also apparently does animation! This one is a series of real people talking about their first crush, but each story is animated with animals as the characters. Very charming.

Somebody has been reading my mind.
I wonder, does this count as stop motion animation?
