Leaving town tomorrow for 1-2 weeks, so my already scant posting will be basically nonexistent until May. In the meantime, here’s something from my archive. I made this in 2012 for a collaborative project that was never finished, but I still really like it.
See you in May!

A few things:
1. Happy spring! (Which arrived like two months ago where I live.)
2. All I have time to make these days are hasty blobs with faces, ergo this post. I am really sorry. I really am. (And for the crappy scan. When I got my new computer I couldn’t use my old version of Photoshop anymore and am stuck with Elements which even in expert mode doesn’t help me fix scans like this very well…) (I tweaked it one more time; less bad but not great.)
3. Today’s Google doodle is great and looked familiar, and then I found that it was made by Eleanor Davis, who I follow here on tumblr at beoujia.tumblr.com. Obviously check her out.
4. You can see her doodle for the Southern hemisphere, where it is the first day of fall, on Google Brazil. Cool!

Original drawing available in the shop for not a lot of money. It’s kind of farty.

This month draw Gabby draw! turned 5 years old! Here is one of the first drawings I posted, back in February 2009. Five years in internet time is a long time. I guess my style is the same and different. That’s what one would expect, right?

Detail.

Something reptilian. When I started this I told myself I could only use the brown, blue, and black paint in my tray, and that I could only outline in pencil (no ink). Then I broke a rule and allowed an accent color.

Watercolor, pencil, a teeny bit of colored pencil, on cold-pressed watercolor paper.

Good morning! It’s February! Just so you know, every order placed in my shop this month will include a hand-painted heart notecard (flat, not folded). It will be the same colors as the one you see above, but probably a different pattern. Still some original drawings for cheap left, too.
